Winery Information: Matahiwi Estate owner Alastair Scott had a lifelong dream to own a winery and produce award winning New Zealand wine. In 1998 Alastair’s dream came true and Matahiwi Estate was established. Miles Dinneen has now joined the team as wine maker and brings with him many accolades, most recently Best New Zealand Wine in the International Wine Challenge. Wairarapa is situated in the South of the North Island ensuring a long, dry growing season with warm days and pleasantly cool nights.
