Wine Description: Intense ruby red colour. Hints of dried fruit, tobacco and leather. Soft velvety and full bodied.
Food Match: Roasted or stewed meat cheese and dark chocolate.
Winery Information: Cantine Pirovano was founded in 1910 and is still run by the Pirovano family with Beatrice being the latest generation to have joined the company. Located near Lombardy they have used over a 100 years of experience to produce some of Italy’s most iconic wines.
Grapes used to make “Appassimento” wines have been partially dried after the harvest in order to concentrate the grapes flavours and aromas prior to vinification. This results in wonderful rich wines with great depth of flavour.
