Wine Description: Berry selection and low yields ensure a rich and deep garnet colour with jammy fruits of the forest aromas. The palate offers a mouthful of damsons and black pepper with delicate vanilla. This is a full bodied sparkling wine.
Food Match: Versatile and can be paired with charcuterie, cheese and bitter chocolate desserts.
Winery Information: Mallee Estate is an organic and certified sustainable, family owned and run winery, founded by Peter and Eleni Markeas. Their first vineyard of 3 acres of Shiraz, was planted in 1969. Today the estate consists of three vineyards in Renmark which take advantage of the differing soil types in order to nurture more distinctive grapes for the wines produced. All processes in the winery are done under the watchful eye of the winemaker, and the second generation Jim Markeas whose focus is to preserve and showcase the fabulous fruit from the vineyards through to the bottle. The Estate’s transition to organic and certified sustainable has been all been done under Jim’s stewardship.
