The Del Pedregal family, brand owners of Aves del Sur have been making wine since 1825, when Carlos Alberto del Pedregal, hailing from Asturias in Spain, was attracted by the excellent viticultural conditions in the Loncomilla Valley. This eight-generation winery has adapted modern wine making techniques to the needs of the 21st century consumer. Aves del Sur translates to Birds of the South, with each wine label celebrating a different bird species.
The Errazuriz family winery was established in Colchagua in 1992 re-introducing vineyards and winemaking on the family estate. Now producing over 35 million cases a year, with over 2,700 hectares of vines and growing 15 grape varietals planted in the Curico and Colchagua Valleys.
The Los Vascos estate was taken over by the prestigious Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) group in 1988. After much restructuring and modernising the winery now produces some of Chile’s greatest wines.
Los Vascos means the Basques and is a tribute to the original settlers in the region.
